Tennie Shares Her Insight on Eating Disorders During NEDAwareness Week

LoveNational Eating Disorder Awareness Week (Feb. 24 – March 2) aims to prevent eating disorders and body image issues while reducing the stigma surrounding eating disorders and improving access to treatment.

Keeping with NEDAwareness Week’s mission, Tennie sat down with “To Write Love On Her Arms,” to discuss the impact of media on attitudes towards body image and how to be supportive of a loved one who is suffering from an eating disorder.

When asked what is a common misconception people have about eating disorders, she said that when it comes to eating disorders, it is so much more than simply an addiction. There are many factors involved and we have to take the time to “look in the past and look at [the] core issues of what is driving the addiction.”
